After a game last season, Lakers’ legend Kobe Bryant offered Timberwolves wing Shabazz Muhammad a few tips, including one about his go-to shot.
“He was just like, ‘I love the left hook. Next year get the counter because they are really biting on that left hook,’ ” Muhammad recalled after Wednesday’s shoot around. “I was like, ‘you’re right.’
“That is one of my childhood heroes, and for him to say something to me I thought that was pretty neat,” Muhammad added.
Muhammad hopes to offer Bryant some kind words after Wednesday’s game, Bryant’s final visit to Target Center before retiring at season’s end.
“Hopefully, I can say something to him tonight and just thank him for how he has carried himself throughout the league and has been one of the best players in this league.”
